DANZA DEL HUMO
I've
been tempted to say that all my creations have a meaning that
precedes and justifies them. For example, the scrap man running
through a desolate landscape would be running away from himself, from
his own carnal and mortal nature. And the little girl who observes
the orchestra across the abyss, with a huge factory behind her, would
be desiring that other world, more human, that she can see but not
access .... And so on, I could give each one of them a why and a
wherefore. But I'd better confess that few of them
were have born of a conscious purpose. Most of my images are
spontaneous and have the same nature as dreams. That is why
their name: "Onirographs". I feel them more as a
discovery than as a creation. They have their own life and once
"born" they don't depend on me anymore. Their meaning is
obscure for me, ambiguous, polivalent. The
explanation that each observer could attribute to them is as valid as
mine. I am only another spectator.
